The classic campaign about the slower than anticipated Allied breakout from D-Day landing beaches to the wider Normandy area in 1944. While German struggled to approach the actual beach area because of overwhelming Allied firepower both from air and sea, and the huge number of Allied units on the beaches, Germans managed to essentially contain the Allied advance for months. Do you have what it takes to actually push the Allies back into the sea and take back the control of those landing beaches?

Taking place from: 1944-06
Map size: 700 = 28 x 25
Specials: Small scale, mine clearing with special tanks, increasing number of units.
Released: 2011-06

WELCOME:

You are in command of the Allied WWII armed forces immediately after the D-Day invasion in June 6th 1944. The object of the game is to conquer the Normandy as quickly as possible.

VICTORY CONDITIONS:

The aim is to reach 140 Victory Points (VP) as quickly as possible.

QUICK TIPS: Settings: You can change hexagon size, city icons, unit icons, and many other aspects from settings, or via the four round buttons in the upper-left corner of the gaming view. Unit markings: Lower left corner shows HPs (Hit Points), upper left corner shows the number of MPs (move points), right side has several type of markings: warnings on red, attached resources on white, ground information (what's under unit icon) is marked on green. Zooms buttons (Z) are located on upper-left corner. Combat core concepts: adjacent units critically support each other in battle; encircling is often more efficient than using brute-force direct attacks.

People of Western Europe: A landing was made this morning on the coast of France by troops of the Allied Expeditionary Force. This landing is part of the concerted United Nations' plan for the liberation of Europe, made in conjunction with our great Russian allies ... I call upon all who love freedom to stand with us. Keep your faith staunch. Our arms are resolute. Together we shall achieve victory.
- Broadcast by Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower, June 6, 1944.
CAMPAIGN NOTES:

Victory Conditions: Control all Victory Points (VPs), which are gained from the cities.

Please note that moving uphill will cost extra Move Points. Please note that there are two different hills: Moving or attacking from lower to higher ground will result MP or combat penalties.

Some of the ground combat unit types can be turned OFF from Settings, if you want less units to speed up turns and increase the challenge.

Spies and Fake Units can be turned ON and OFF from Settings.

Ost Infantry battalions are weak units which are more likely to scatter under any pressure.

French unit is marked with British tank to separate them from the more numerous Americans.

Some of the newer code mentions 'province', but since this small-scale game does not include actual provinces with borders, this usually implies to hexagons within the range of two from the city.

Some slightly incorrect military-history terms (like Fort for minor dugouts) are used simply because they are short (map won't be flooded with long text tags) and these terms are known to even non-native English speakers.
