Night time: Reduces Allied movement more than German movement, Artillery will be less effective for both sides, and aerial functions will not be available.
(*) Experienced units gain special skills.
GERMAN UNIT TYPES:
German Infantry: Regular Werhmacht infantry division.
Volksgrenadier: Weak German infantry division.
Parachute: German Parachute division (more hit points than regular infantry).
WSS: Strong WSS division.
Tank (IV): Panzer division (Panzer IVs).
Tank (V): Stronger Panzer division (Panzer IVs - Panthers).
Tank (VI): Tanks of an SS division (Panzer VIs - Tigers), extra bonus vs enemy tank units. Less HP, Two move points.
Antitank Gun unit - Slow and relative weak unit that gets a big bonus vs armored units, and a small penalty for fighting against infantry. Slightly better at defending than at attack. Bonus vs immobile units. Poor line-of-sight.
AMERICAN UNIT TYPES:
US Infantry: Regular infantry division. Usually most +1 HP replacements arrive as basic infantry.
US Airborne: Strong paratrooper division.
M4 (Sherman) tank unit: Armored division.
M18: M18 Hellcat Tank Destroyer unit - Receives bonus vs Panzer divisions.
M1 57mm Antitank Guns: Defensive combat bonus vs enemy tank formations.
B17: B17 bomber fleet can either bombard enemy units, or drop supplies (+1 MP) to own encircled units.
Artillery: Tap enemy unit to bombard it (this action requires full move points). Bombardment can result in a loss of HP, loss of MPs, increase in Fatigue, or be ineffective (IE). Operational range is shown with a circle when the unit is selected. If attacked by an enemy unit this type of unit might withdraw multiple hexagons and lose extra MPs.
