In this fine model of a Blitzkrieg attack (in which Panzer Divisions focused on narrow sector), Wehrmacht pushed a wedge through Allied front line and captured the coastal cities, splitting the Allies in two and forcing France out of the war.

WELCOME:

Invasion of France 1940 is a large scale turn based strategy game set on the Western front of the Second World War. You are in the command of the German WWII armed forces-tanks, infantry and air force units-and the object of the campaign is to concentrate your mobile forces enough to push through the center of the map to first seize three key port cities (Calais, Boulogne, and Dunkirk) to cut off the British Forces rushing into Belgium to meet the expected German main attack there. After controlling the three port cities the second phase requires turning South with your exhausted divisions to capture Paris as quickly as possible to finish the campaign.

VICTORY CONDITIONS: You are in command of the German armed forces and the object of the game is to FIRST seize the three port cities of Calais, Boulogne, and Dunkirk, and then SECONDLY turn South and capture Paris as quickly as possible.

QUICK TIPS: Settings: You can change hexagon size, city icons, unit icons, and many other aspects from settings, or via the four round buttons in the upper-left corner of the gaming view. Unit markings: Lower left corner shows HPs (Hit Points), upper left corner shows the number of MPs (move points), right side has several type of markings: warnings on red, attached resources on white, ground information (what's under unit icon) is marked on green. Zooms buttons (Z) are located on upper-left corner. TMP-system: By controlling Key Tactical Locations (green diamonds) you will gain TMPs (Tactical Move Points), which can be used to move between two hexagons sharing Tactical Route (yellow-green arrow between the hexagons) without losing regular MPs. Combat core concepts: adjacent units critically support each other in battle:encircling is often more efficient than using brute-force direct attacks.

CAMPAIGN NOTES:

IMPORTANT! Victory Conditions: Object of the game is to FIRST seize the three port cities of Calais, Boulogne, and Dunkirk, and then SECONDLY turn South and capture Paris as quickly as possible.

Notice: There are few settings to alter how French deploy their tank forces. Historically too scattered to get the best performance out of them.

There is a settings to turn off WSS unit type entirely as it enters into the play fairly late.

Some slightly incorrect military-history terms (like Fort for minor dugouts) are used simply because they are short (map won't be flooded with long text tags) and these terms are known to even non-native English speakers.
