WELCOME:
Eastern Front is a turn based strategy game set on the World War II Russian front. You are in command of the German WWII armed forces and the object of the game is to conquer the Soviet Union as quickly as possible.
VICTORY CONDITIONS: The object is to have OVER 180 Victory Points (VPs), which are gained from cities. A total of 200 Victory Points available on this particular campaign.
QUICK TIPS: Settings: You can change hexagon size, city icons, unit icons, and many other aspects from settings, from scenario-wide Settings, or via the four round buttons in the upper-left corner of the gaming view. Unit markings: Lower left corner shows HPs (Hit Points), upper left corner shows the number of MPs (move points), right side has several type of markings: warnings on red, attached resources on white, ground information (what's under unit icon) is marked on green. Zooms buttons (Z) are located on upper-left corner. Combat core concepts: adjacent units critically support each other in battle; encircling is often more efficient than using brute-force direct attacks.

Partizans get active after the first quarter of 1942. There is an option to alter the ferocity of the Soviet partizan movement.
As of 2018-February there are two separate Too-Cold processes: Generic whitening of all terrain during Winter months and potential loss of 1 MP from mechanized units, and the old legacy system shown with separate whitened hexagons.
Grossdeutschland was its own unit type, but had to be turned into WSS because so many devices were struggling (out of memory) with the number of icons in spite of all the optimizations. Unfortunately the obvious answer was to remove icon which was only used for one particular unit.
During winter season most hexagons can be so cold that units (except Siberians) might lose MPs. Winter Clothing prevents units from losing MPs because of cold weather.
You get Winter Clothes mostly from POWs (Walking over them) and by seizing Soviet Supply Depots. You will also receive handful of them during the month of December, plus occasionally from rewards (reaching a new level of area control etc.).
Production locations do not show the remaining time (as is done in some campaigns) because some of the variation is per location based, and showing the turns remaining to finish production would allow player to switch between various items to over-produce resources.
Variation: There will always be some variation to the initial location of the units, but you can increase the amount of variation for the locations of the units from Settings.
There is a limited set of new (named) Panzer, WSS, and Heavy Tank Units, and they eventually stop by 1948. Getting new Axis formations depends on your controlling Bucharest and Budapest. German Motorized units will stop after a decade. Certain low level of German infantry is always assumed to arrive from west of Berlin.
Tip: Due to the limited number of Railway Move Points (RMPs) make sure to transport the unit most needing railway movement first.
