WELCOME:
As the commander of the German armed forces on the Western Front, you have been given the daunting task of stopping the Allied invasion following the D-Day landings on June 6th, 1944. You'll have to be at the top of your game to achieve victory in this extremely challenging simulation. Your mission is clear: eliminate all of the enemy's landing beaches by encircling and wiping out their forces with the units at your disposal. From the delicate Ost Battalions to the battle-hardened WSS Divisions and mighty Panzer VI formations, you'll need to use every resource at your disposal to achieve your objectives. But the Allies won't make it easy for you, as their constant bombardment will limit your mobility and make your task even more challenging. So, sharpen your tactical skills, take control of your troops, and outmaneuver the seemingly overpowering enemy forces!
VICTORY CONDITIONS:
The game ends when either side loses control of all cities.
QUICK TIPS:Settings: You can change hexagon size, city icons, unit icons, and many other aspects from settings, or via the four round buttons in the upper-left corner of the gaming view. Unit markings: Lower left corner shows HPs (Hit Points), upper left corner shows the number of MPs (move points), right side has several type of markings: warnings on red, attached resources on white, ground information (what's under unit icon) is marked on green. Zooms buttons (Z) are located on upper-left corner. Combat core concepts: adjacent units critically support each other in battle. encircling is often more efficient than using brute-force direct attacks.
CAMPAIGN NOTES:
Victory Conditions: Control all Victory Points (VPs), which are gained from the cities.
Units will automatically dig-in and get a defense bonus [D1 if they have full MPs between turns (cities not included).
Please note that there are two different hills: Moving or attacking from lower to higher ground will result MP or combat penalties.
Luftwaffe units arrive later in the campaign (historically most units of German Air Force were active elsewhere and had to relocate closer to Normandy area).
Some of the newer code mentions 'province', but since this small-scale game does not include actual provinces with borders, this usually implies to hexagons within the range of two from the city.
Some slightly incorrect military-history terms (like Fort for minor dugouts) are used simply because they are short (map won't be flooded with long text tags) and these terms are known to even non-native English speakers.
